Fractions_Sangay Dorji

Brief Description of a Course

Fractions help learners understand the nature of numbers and their interactions such as the meaning of division. If the learners do not understand how fraction work, it will interfere with their ability to learn algebra. Working with fractions also introduces some of the essentials of number theory, such as the lowest common denominator.

There are many opportunities in daily life to help learners understand fractions, as well as to help them see the importance of fractions. One of the best times to practice using fraction is during cooking such as measuring out the required quantities (e.g., 1/3 cup of salt). It offers a great opportunity to see fractions used in everyday life.
