Course overview and Scope:

This course covers the definition of internal hardware, differences between internal and external hardware, functions of different internal hardware components (Motherboard, processor, RAM, Hard drive, power supply unit, Network interface card) and Introduction to IPO cycle.

Competency:

Students will be able to identify key components of the internal hardware to understand and appreciate the working of computer.

Objective(s):

Students who complete this course will be able to:

• Explain the working process of a computer.
• Explain the functions of basic internal hardware components.
• Differentiate between internal and external hardware.
