Course over view and Scope

Transformation of polygons come under transformational geometry in mathematics. Basically, there are four ways of transformations. The purpose of learning this particular topic is to enhance higher level of thinking in connecting geometries in space , shape and measurement. The idea of transformation will also provide visualization technique , encourage  learners to manipulate geometry shapes. This study will help the learners to study and derive simple equation or formula of shapes.

Competencies:

Demonstrate understanding of dilation of 2-D shapes.

Transform regular polygons through multiple transformation.

Objectives:

After completing the course , Student should be able to:

• Define dilation as enlargement or shrinking of a shape based on dilation factor.
• Investigate different types of transformations.
• Transform regular polygons based on combination of transformations.
