Course overview and scope

In grammar, a question tag is a construction in which an interrogative fragment is added to a declarative or an imperative clause or is a very short clause at the end of a statement which changes the statement into a question. They are more common in speaking than writing. This course will let children know the importance of question tags in our everyday communication, know its different functions and its usage in spoken as well as in written forms. Children will be taught on how to form question tag after reading the statement. In completion of the course, children will be able to meet the objectives and competencies listed below. 

 Competency 

  • Apply grammatical knowledge of the text, word, phrase and sentence levels to convey ideas accurately in different social context.
  • Apply the lesson learned in their everyday communication(spoken) and in written as well.

  • Discuss the different examples of question tags and notice how they are formed. 
  • Do the exercises on forming of question tags. 
  • State the importance of using question tags.
