Course Overview and Scope

Understanding the Social media refers to the means of interactions among people in which they create, share, and/or exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks.
Social media is a web‐based technology to facilitate social interaction between a large group of people through some type of network. In common widely used network is the Internet. But social media platforms are also for local networks as well. This course will introduce different types of social media, its benefit, limitation and some of the safety tips used.

 Competency

1. Students will be able to demonstrate safe and ethical use of social media for effective communication and collaboration with peers, teachers and others.

2. Students will be able to demonstrate acceptable online behaviors and adopt good practices of personal data protection for healthy and safe online experience.
